Greenyard was the first windsurfing and kite boarding school to be established on Boracay. All instructors are IKO certified and work together to pool their skills acquired from experience working across globe.

Can anyone learn kiteboarding?
Yes. kiteboarding is easy to learn and does not require any special skills or great physical strength. Kiteboarding is certainly easier to learn than windsurfing; however, it is a little more challenging than wakeboarding because it is like learning two sports: board riding, and kite flying. Almost anyone between the ages of 7 and 70 can pick up the basics in as little as three days. Nonetheless, you must be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water.
How much does it cost to learn kiteboarding?
It only requires a modest investment to get into the sport. Here is a cost breakdown:

Boards cost around $600 and a harness will be another $150.00. Thus, a brand new package generally runs between $2000-3000. Can I learn Kiteboarding from watching a video?
Only as a supplement to training with an instructor. In fact, we will make videos available to you to watch at the school or in your hotel. Watching a video before your first lesson will help you to visualize the overall process and make the most of your time with the instructor.
Should I buy a trainer Kite before the lesson?
Your progress in this sport will largely be determined by your ability to control the kite, so it might be a good idea to buy a trainer kite. They cost between $100 and $200. Flying any type of kite will help you to understand the wind and kite but we recommend a ram-air (soft) type with control bar. We have all of our students fly trainer kite before they move up to the big kites. Remember though, even though they are small, a trainer kite has enough power to pull you off your feet, so take your time and never practice in high winds.
I have windsurfing/ skiing/ snowboarding experience. Will that make me a better kitesurfer?
Kiteboarding is different. Riding on water is TOTALLY different from snow, but the balance you have developed will certainly give you a slight advantage over people without these skills. Basically, prepare yourself to learn a NEW sport and you will avoid frustration from unreasonable expectations.
How long will it take me to learn?
Of course the time required to learn the sport will vary according to the individual. Many schools tell prospective students that they can learn the sport in three days but we believe that a longer kiteboarding courses would be the best place to start. These range from 5 days to two weeks, which ought to be sufficient time to master basic skills before progressing to more advanced techniques. To graduate from a being downwind rider to an upwind rider will take about a month (10-20 sessions). It is best not to worry about how long it takes, because you want to enjoy the learning phase. If you put too much pressure on yourself you won’t enjoy the process. Basically, try to give yourself a week to ten days when you begin. Can I try the sport before committing to a longer course?
Yes you can. If you are curious about Kiteboarding, we offer a “Discover kiteboarding” class, where you can try a trainer kite and familiarize yourself with the port. If you like it, you can simply upgrade to a longer course.
4What is the maximum age for kiteboarding?
We have taught several students over 70 years old. Of course, we consider the age and fitness level of all of our students and recommend a specific lesson program accordingly. Older students generally require more time than kids but, as long as you can swim, adventurous souls of any age could take up this sport.
What is the minimum age for kiteboarding?
The minimum age is nine years old. Our “Kids Kiteboarding” program is taught by specially certified instructors using smaller gear. Many adults take a course together with their kids. This is a terrific way to learn and a wonderful experience to share with the whole family.
Where can I do it?
You can kiteboard anywhere that you see windsurfers. Kites like medium to strong wind, 10-25 km/ hr with shallow water and a sandy bottom. The skills you learn on the water are easily transferred to ice and snow as well as land buggies and dirt surfers.
