Overview
The Reef Kite + Surf center is located on Sandy Beach – St Lucia’s best kitesurfing beach on the south-east coast of the island – close to the town of Vieux Fort. The bay is unspoilt and uncrowded … every kitesurfer’s dream.
Our kitesurfing school offers lessons to suit all levels and abilities, so whatever your goals might be – from simply learning how to pilot a kite to pulling off advanced tricks – the instructors at The Reef can guide you every step of the way. An integral part of our lesson structure is a focus on teaching you to become an independent rider with the skills, knowledge and ability to handle situations that may arise once you start kiting on your own in other locations
The Kitesurfing school is located on the grounds of The Reef Beach Cafe, a full-service beachfront restaurant and bar. The Reef Beach Huts also located on-site, offer clean, friendly, down-to-earth accommodation just a few steps from the school.

Those who wish to hire kite gear must have reasonable proficiency and satisfy the following conditions:
- Be of good health
- Excellent swimmer
- Ability to return to starting point at all times
- Ability to sail upwind
- Waterstart
- Positioning and relaunch of kite after falling into the water
Our on-site kite instructor will test your kiting ability in a check hour. If your kiting skills do not meet the above criteria, the rental can be converted into a course.

There are two airports in St Lucia - One in the north (GFL Charles/airport code: SLU) and one in the south (Hewanorra International/airport code: UVF). Hewanorra International located in the south close to the town of Vieux Fort is a mere three-minute drive from The Reef Kite + Surf at Sandy Beach.
Arrival by Car
The Reef Kite + Surf at Sandy Beach is located mid-way between Hewanorra International airport and the town of Vieux Fort, directly opposite the twin offshore Maria Islands.
