Locally known as the best on the island; unlike most, we don’t just teach you how to ride a kite board, we teach you kiteboarding! The later being a far greater depth of base knowledge and safety which should enable you to safely kite elsewhere independently. Learning to drive a car can be done in 1 hour but it wouldn’t make you safe on the roads. “Our responsibility is to you” We offer more than the sum of our parts. Our attitude towards the customer experience and approach to safety makes our students more informed and typically better, safer kitesurfers at the same price as others.

No other school in Asia is run by an ex-aircraft engineer hence our deep understanding and regard for safety. Years of flight safety protocol, procedures and a profound respect for power kites mean we understand and never underestimate the dangers. Our crew are constantly monitored for safety & course content. Making sure you receive the best instruction with no corners cut. There are leaders and followers. Since 2002 (when we became the 1st IKO center in Asia) we have brought much needed professionalism. Whilst others have followed with some qualified instructors, no one has invested financially in equipment SPECIFICALLY for TEACHING. We are not about making a fast buck but are about introducing every student to where professionalism meets a relaxed safe learning enviroment.

Rental or Store

For those with an IKO Level2 or equivalent level who are wanting to rent equipment we offer a up to date easy to use delta style kites. Choose from our selection of latest models 3m-14m Rally’s, Z’s and monster Turbines for light wind. Our carefully selected board range (25pcs +) has from beginner light wind specific to pro level and something for everyone in between. We offer top quality helmets and impact vests and predominantly use seat harnesses but also have waste harness for more experienced riders preferring this style. If conditions fail us during your session you might be charged for the hourly rate if its cheaper than the daily amount

Kitesurfers choosing to visit Boracay can benefit from our legendary 5star beach service and storage. For just a little let us take the donkey work out of your vacation. Our compressor allows for easy inflation and beach crew will help you set up and launch/ land on what is a pretty tricky beach. If you forget to return after lunch our guys will pack up and store your gear in your storage area. Service Reviews. Great Kite CenterA full quiver of Slingshot kites, which I absolutely love. Plus boards, booties, bars and the whole deal.Great staff - friendly and efficient. We talked to several kiteboarding centers in bulabog beach and Ocean Republic seems to have good programs and deals for learners w/ different levels. We first went for the group learning and then switched to individual lessons as we had different needs. Our instructors were great and we really enjoyed our first kiteboarding experience!!!read more

Ocean Republic was top notch!The crew that works with Ocean Republic is outstanding and the price is very fair. I started my search with companies and was left hanging with many no-replies with the exception of Ocean Republic. Glen was immediate with his replies and was eager to help us set up our trip. This communication was evident throughout our whole experience. On the beach, Melvyn and his crew (Nono, Soy, and Clyde) helped us get acclimated to the White Sand kiting (deeper water and chop) and regularly switched out kites to make our water time a blast. Just back from Boracay and returned to Ocean Republic for my kite sessions as I said I would after my Dec 2014 visit.Both the kite spot and Ocean Republic were again up to my (now high) expectations. I highly recommend both, especially for beginners. Great spot and great school to learn.Dimitry the new manager was very helpful and safety conscious. The rest of the team is mostly unchanged giving the same efficient but relaxed vibe to the place.Everyone was always happy to help with kite/ board choice or riding tips.I'll be back!read more

Lessons in place just to take your money rather than instruct. Promises of contact not followed through on a daily basis. Bad attitude from the main, local instructor. Giving 2 stars because they let me change the instructor the last day, but it was too late and we didn't complete our package.- changing to 3 stars because they let us use the standup paddle during the bad surfing weatherread more

Ocean Republic exceeded our expectations with regards to location, facilities and instructors. The majority of instructors were Filipino which my girlfriend and I liked. Their cool, calm teaching style really helped. We both achieved IKO level III in our six day stay and feel the cost was reasonable for the amount of time we spent on the water.Highly recommended - I don't give five stars often 😀read more

I wanted to thank Glen (the owner) & Nono (my instructor) whom I explained my slightly traumatic experience of kitesurfing in Sanur a few years back.Glen paired me up with an amazing instructor who me up and riding within 4hrs by being patient and restoring my lost confidence and made me fall in love with this sport again.Perfect water & wind conditions, and unlike other schools, pristine equipment, and instructors whot hink about safety first unlike some of the other school's instructors (who didn't warn or seem to care when their students when they crashed into other kites)highly recommend.read more

I and my wife just took 4 hours lesson. It was really great. We are already into kitesurfing. We will visit and take full course soon. Highly recommend if you want to experience kitesurfing.
