Overview
Kitesurfing is a type of extreme sports, the basis of which is the forced air-pull movement provided by the kite operated by the sportsman. Equipment for kitesurfing consists of the kite itself, a plank with the lines, a board, a security leash, harness, and an air pump for the kite (if the kite is inflatable). These are the required elements. Also, based on necessity, we include hydro suit, hydro slippers, helmet (for stunts in the shallow water), and a life jacket (we recommend that you use it whether you are experienced or not).
All the equipment is quite compact and weighs about 14-20 kg. Kitesurfing is a very interesting and beautiful type of sport. For a person who has never dealt with the concept of the wind, it’s possible to get on the board in 8-10 hours. As with any extreme sport, it’s better to engage in kitesurfing under the guidance of an experienced instructor—in this case any beginner’s trauma is reduced to zero. The first quarter of the training time is dedicated to learning the operation of the kite, to surrendering the kite completely to yourself and your actions.
You will be able to feel the pull that raises you above the water. The daily length of a kite lesson is 1 to 3 hours depending on the endurance of the student. The first kite lesson is held on the beach—you’ll learn the basic skills in detecting the wind direction, preparation of the kite for the water, and basic principles of security and driving. All other lessons are conducted on water. We conduct the kitesurfing lessons on the shallow sand near to our station.
The location is perfect for both—the kitesurfing lessons and the enjoyment of the extremely blue water shade and the vacation on the paradise island. During the tide, the level of island water reaches 1—2 meters, and during the receding of the tide the minimal water level gets to approximately 20 cm. The length of the shallow sand is about 300 meters; further comes the deep water. Such conditions for surfing are ideal for the beginners’ training—if the kite hits water, the possibility of damaging it lessens in comparison with hitting the kite on the ground or sand.
For those who have already experienced the enjoyment of kitesurfing and can surf independently, the shallow water allows for practicing jumps and kite loops without the fear of losing the board and enduring body drag. During the course of the whole training, our guard motorboat stays in a close proximity of the training location. Your safety is our main priority. Visit us and challenge yourself in this fiery type of sport. The beauty of kitesurfing, enjoyment of the drive and the adrenalin from jumps up to several meters will not leave you unimpressed.
